1. Overview
This manual outlines key steps to bind Zoho personal email to third-party email services/clients via SMTP. Configuring SMTP enables direct email sending from the third-party platform using your Zoho account, ensuring secure communication.
2. Prerequisites & Preparation
Complete these prerequisites to avoid binding failures:

- Valid Zoho Account: Ensure your Zoho email (e.g., username@zoho.com) is activated and accessible.
- 2FA Check: If 2FA is enabled, use an App-Specific Password for SMTP auth; otherwise, use your regular login password.
3. Critical Step: Generate App-Specific Password (If 2FA Is On)
2FA-enabled accounts require an app-specific password (regular password won’t work). Generate it as follows:
- Log in to Zoho Mail web version (https://mail.zoho.com/).
- Click your profile avatar > Select My Account.
- In left sidebar: Security > App Passwords.
- Click Generate New Password, add a label (e.g., "LeadNavi SMTP") > Generate.
- Copy the 16-character password immediately (it won’t reappear) and store securely.
4. Wait for Propagation and Connect to LeadsNavi
- Allow up to 1 hour for the settings to take effect. This delay ensures the authentication protocols are fully activated.
- For Onboarding Users: If you are still in the onboarding process, simply enter your email address and follow the guided steps to complete the setup.
- For Adding Additional Accounts: If you wish to add another email account, navigate to the Accounts section in your LeadsNavi account. Follow the instructions there to bind your new email account. You can refer to the image below for guidance.
- After the waiting period, log in to your LeadsNavi account, navigate to Accounts, and enter your email credentials. Leadsnavi will automatically detect the enabled SMTP and IMAP settings to complete the binding process.
